A formal network of EU independent fiscal institutions has been established October 06, 2015

An agreement was signed in Bratislava on 11 September 2015 establishing the Network of EU Independent Fiscal Institutions. The network will allow the fiscal councils of EU member states to exchange information and experience and to work together in areas of common concern while providing a single viewpoint in discussions on the future development of the European fiscal framework. The work of the network will be led for the next two years by its Chair José Luis Escrivá of the Spanish Independent Authority for Fiscal Responsibility, and the Deputy Ľudovít Ódor of Slovak Council for Budget Responsibility. The agreement establishing the network was signed by 21 European institutions whose job it is to monitor how well fiscal rules are followed and to assess economic forecasts.
